Cheap International Airline Tickets are a little tricky to find
sometimes but not if you will remember a few simple and easy tricks.
First of all, price your tickets round trip out of a major hub.
What I mean is price a round trip ticket leaving and returning out of
ORD, LAX, DFW, PHX and others. The major hubs for the airlines
will be offering many more direct flights to international destinations
that the regional airports. What we find works well is to do our
international out of LAX or SFO if we are going to Asia or Australia and
then we just book a separate roundtrip ticket to and from the hub
airport on Southwest or any other regional carrier.
You might be thinking that this is a lot of work and a waste of time.
Not so fast. Depending on where you live in the country you will
find that the major hub airports offer the best selection of airlines
flying to any given international destination on any given day of the
week. You can usually find both day time and night time departures
going where you want to go. What gets most people is the regional
connection going to the major airports. The inventory on those
regional's might be close to being full so the prices will be higher.
Depending on the time of departure for the international flight you
want, we recommend flying in the night before or the same day giving
yourself at least four hours or more for safety. Some of the best
ways to find the cheap international airline tickets is to use some of
the ticket search platforms as well as Airline Consolidators. I
have found luck both ways.
We were flying to Asia a couple times a few years ago and the prices
were high for what we wanted. I kept searching and starting coming
across Philippine Airlines for several of my trips so I concentrated on
them. We ended up booking two separate roundtrip Asia trips with
Philippine Airlines that year because of their pricing and the ability
to fly in First Class where we would have been in Business Class on any
other airline.
What was the catch? We had to leave from LAX and the flights left
around mid night and we have two stops before we got to our final
destination. We had to stop in Guam for gas and fuel and then we
landing in Manila and had to change planes to get to our final
destination of Singapore. The flight times were good, the
planes were clean and modern and the crew and staff were excellent to
fly with. We recommend and will fly with Philippine Airlines more
in the future.
For an upcoming flight to Paris in October, we started looking around
eight months ago and we feel like we found and purchased some good value
for our money airline tickets. First of all we are leaving from a
major hub, SFO and found a non-stop flight both ways. Then we were
able to book Business Class at a price that we were comfortable with and
usually with the Business Class ticket you can add a few extras that the
airline throw in for free. Things like extra baggage, lounges
going and coming, separate check in when arriving at the airports and
small things like this. Since we purchased our tickets, the price
has gone up for our exact tickets by over twice what we paid for them.
Sign up for discounts, specials to be emailed you from the airline
websites as well as the major search platforms, like TravelZoo, Expedia
and others. Being able to take some time and search for the best
airline ticket price for international flights could save you some
serious cash and money. The flights will vary from destination to
country, but, look outside of the well known carriers and see what some
of the others have to offer. Don't be afraid to use the search
platforms for the leg work and then refine your searches on the
individual airline websites to see if they have any specials or
discounts that might be for their online customers only.
